Acktion is a a major Canadian real estate development and management company with extensive property holdings as well. It owns 50.15% of the Morguard Real Estate Investment Trust through which it owns revenue-producing office, industrial and retail properties in seven provinces.
Other subsidiaries include Goldlist Properties, a company focused on the acquisition, development and management of multi-family residential properties, and Morguard Investments Limited (MIL), a management company that advises pension funds and institutional investors as well as manage properties. MIL pioneered the concept of tax exempt pooled equity real estate investment for pension funds.
Acktion also has significant interests in Revenue Properties Company Limited and MFP Technology ServicesLimited, both publicly traded companies.
The company has in the past repurchased shares under a normal course issuer bid and continues to do so until Sept. 14, 2001.
