Anderson Exploration is a senior oil and gas producer operating in Western and Northern Canada. 65% of its production is natural gas.
The company has grown by exploration and acquisition, taking over Ulster Petroleums in a billion dollar deal in May 2000, and Numac Energy in a $960 million deal in February 2001. Reserves have grown 215% over the last seven years while production has climbed 230%.
The leading exploration company in Northern Canada, Anderson is the largest holder of exploration licenses in the Mackenzie Delta and the Beaufort Sea. Over two million acres are covered in the company's eight licenses.
The year 2000 was a banner year for Anderson with production up 13% and prices up substantially. Earnings for the year were up 332% with cash flow up 97%. 2001 is expected to continue the strong performance.
Founded in 1968 as the Anderson Program in 1968, the six partners in Anderson's exploration bid amalgamated to form Anderson Exploration in 1982 and went public in 1983.
