Components Inc. has been a leading hi-tech
manufacturers representative providing components and
sub-assembly solutions to design engineers and Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). It does this through a number of subsidiaries, each with a different focus. The mainstay is Dynasty Components focusing on semi-conductors. Companies represented include Epson Inc. and Lightspeed Semiconductors. Another division is Triton Components which represents wireless communications manufacturers including Ericsson and RF Micro Devices. And yet another is High-Tech Direct which is an authorized supplier at almost every high-tech OEM in Canada and several large OEMs in the US. Products represented include global positioning systems, modem modules, frequency controllers and liquid crystal displays. The company owns 60% of Dyalem Concepts Inc., its R&D subsidiary which develops the company's own line of products and has a number of patents in the electric power supply control area. On March 8, 2000 the company launched their newest division, DCIenable.com, an e-commerce solutions enabler incorporating systems engineering, design expertise, warehousing and delivery experts, and even financial consulting. Also in March 2000, the company announced an exclusive distribution agreement with the Magellan Corporation to distribute the Magellan GSC 100, the world's first handheld global satellite communicator. It also announced the pending acquisitions of Montreal based Global Hyperlinx and Ottawa based Parts Logistic Management Corporation to enhance its e-business to business division, DCIenable.com. In April the company announced a preliminary distribution and service agreement with ORBCOMM Global, a subsidiary of Teleglobe Canada, the first commercial provider of global low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite data communication services. Combined with the Magellan contract, it allows Dynasty to provide wireless personal messaging services in Canada and the United States via the ORBCOMM network. While revenues for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 1999 was up about 25% over the previous year, earnings per share turned from a profit to a loss because of additional staffing expenses. The company traded at just $0.48 on Dec. 31, 1999 and has moved up sharply since. Shares Outstanding: 12,239,600
