BuyBroadway Online Inc., the largest live entertainment
site on the Internet with over 20,000 pages of content. It is a truly amazing website with an overview of current Broadway plays and information on the theatres showing them. It also lists off-Broadway productions. The play description lists the cast, gives a description of the plot line, and lists price info and age suitability. It provides links to additional information where available. The theatre description includes a history of theatre as well as a graphic depiction of the seating plan, address and phone numbers. Needless to say you can buy tickets online. The website also has subsidiary websites offering reviews of Broadway shows, selling Broadway memorabilia and the Broadway Circle Club which offers a free newsletter on what's new on Broadway, special deals, etc. BuyBroadway Online hosts the official websites for many Broadway productions including Titanic, Rent, Death of a Salesman, Footloose, The Sound of Music, Annie, and Peter Pan. BuyBroadway Online is also the content provider for AOL's Digital City New York theatre section and has plans to open a comedy site with First Entertainment Holdings, a 50/50 joint venture. The websites were revamped as Theatre.com late in 1999 and March 27, 2000, it announced the sale of its Theatre.com assets to BroadwayOnline.com, a subsidiary of Broadway Television Network Inc., for around $10 million, mostly in shares of BroadwayOnline.com.. The company says it will get out of the theatre website business to become a holding company for its BroadwayOnline shares.
