What's to say? They make apple juice!

Actually, Sun Rype Products does make a bit more than apple juice, but that is their primary product. Other juices and fruit snacks fill out the product line. Their familiar Blue Label Apple Juice has consistently been the number one selling apple juice in Western Canada for years. Decades even. Their fruit snacks, under the Fruit-to-Go label, are sold across Canada and exported to the United States.

The company is located in Kelowna, B.C., in the heart of British Columbia's fruit growing belt. Sun Rype's plant is one of the most sophisticated fruit processing plants in North America.

The company was founded as a growers cooperative, BC Fruit Processing Limited, in 1946 to handle local process-grade fruit that could not be sold as fresh, whole fruit. In 1993, the company made the transition to public company, but the BCFGA retained control through special Class "A" voting shares. The common shares were non-voting. On December 1, 1999, the last of the voting shares were redeemed for a nominal price and voting control ceded to common shareowners.

This transition has, so to speak, borne fruit. The last three years have seen the company move from losses to increasing profits.
