| Founded in 1986 as a company providing
specialized software for the oil industry, the company
carved a niche for itself as an application service
provider (ASP). It enabled oil and gas companies to cut
costs by moving away from mainframe systems. Its clientele included such giants as Pan Canadian Petroleum and several hundred other companies in Canada and the US. With the emergence of the Internet, the company has expanded into e-business to business solutions for other firms besides the energy industry. Recently it launched a new website, myATS.com, to enable clients to utilize its applications over the Internet. In April 2000, Maurer Production Accounting Services became the first Canadian company to go live with myATS.com to provide production accounting outsourcing services to client companies. Applied Terravision's products include tools for financial accounting, production management, land management, asset management, marketing and geoscience applications. The company made the Deloitte & Touche Fast Fifty list of the fastest growing technology companies in Canada in both 1998 and 1999.
