Taiga is Canada's largest independent distributor of building materials with 15 distribution centres coast to coast. The company also operates two wood preservation plants, one in B.C. and one in Alberta. 30% of product is sold to the United States.
Founded in 1973, Taiga merged with Caneda Forest Products in 1984 and has since expanded beyond being a lumber wholesaler. Today the company also distributes insulation, asphalt roofing, nails, polyethylene sheeting and processed wood products including mouldings and hardwoods.
The company is headquartered in Burnaby, B.C.. Current focus is on expanding its markets in eastern Canada and the United States.
